ABU DHABI - Thursday, 19 September, 2013 - Mega South African maritime company Caudwell Marine is returning to the worlds most challenging racing series on water, the UIM F1 H2O World Championship, introducing a new racing hull to the world in time for November's Grand Prix of Qatar in Doha on the 22nd and 23rd of November.
Chief Executive Officer Mike Beachy Head has had his own personal hand in the project and is anticipating to continue the growing success of the Caudwell Racing program that was established late last season when their boats took world championship points for the first time in their brief racing history.
Their attempted return to the series has been mired with unprecedented shipping challenges and the delays that have forced the race team to miss the first three events of the season.
The always resourceful Caudwell Racing group, however, have taken advantage of the shipping delays by turning this negative situation into a positive one by completing a brand new "third generation" racing hull featuring new lightweight sponsons while making significant engine and drive refinements on their revolutionary 4-stroke engine.
"We have taken things a little slower this time in our boat development to make sure all the "I's" were dotted and the "t's" were crossed before we ship the new boats from Cape Town," said Mike.
"Our water testing has shown tremendous improvements and we feel we are going to make our mark this time around stronger than ever and can't wait to get fully ready for the competition in our third generation boat we'll christen in Doha."
The team has been restructured as a dedicated unit under the new leadership of team Principal
Jamie Bloemsma who brings a focused energy and years of marine experience to the organization.
Johan Rosenstrauch takes over as technical head.
Caudwell Marine will also present at the season's final round in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates in early December a unique 2-seater Press Boat that's being equipped with a lightweight 300hp technology demonstrator high performance diesel engine married to an F1 Axis Drive. This will be the first ever F1 type tunnel hull to run with a diesel engine.
Never one to shy away from challenges, Caudwell Marine remains committed to bring clean burning four stroke performance to the F1 H2O World Championship and is working tirelessly to be up with the front runners for the remainder of the season.
The upcoming third round of the 2013 campaign takes place on the Liu River on the first and second of October marking the 250th Grand Prix event in the four decade long series championship.
The entire Grand Prix of China event can be followed via the tours official website at www.f1h2o.com. Both official Qualifying and the race will be streamed live via the "world broadcast feed" beginning at 15:00 local, 07:00 GMT and 03:00 EDT on the East Coast of North America.
