ABU DHABI’S RASHED AL QAMZI WINS F4-S IN LIUZHOU
F4-S

Monday, 3 October, LIUZHOU (China): Rashed Al Qamzi was gifted his third race win of the year to take overall victory in the F4-S Trophy in Liuzhou.

The outcome of race 2 was dictated when race director Luis Ribeiro raised the yellow flag on lap 13 of 16 when race 1 winner and the leader by a country mile Jeremy Brisset suddenly ground to a halt.

The eight runners were held for two laps before being released for a two lap sprint to the chequered flag.

Al Qamzi made no mistake from the front to secure the victory. Behind him Ferdinand Zandbergen held off Mohamed Al Mehairbi, who in turn was passed on the penultimate lap by Mohamed Al Yamahi, the podium places going to Zanbergen ad al Mehairbi.

Tom Chiappe’s race was another case of great defence but this time it was Wu Bingchen he had to hold off, but a post-race one lap penalty for Chiappe for not maintaining his lane at the start reversed to positions, with Paolo Longhi’s race ending with retirement on lap 13.

Al Qamzi’s third overall win of the year moves him 36 points clear of Zandbergen in the race for the F4-S title with four races to go in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah in December.
