Qatar Team’s Carella, Torrente and Power Honoured at Gala Dinner in Qatar

DOHA (QATAR): His Excellency Sheikh Hassan bin Jabor Al-Thani, President of the Qatar Marine Sports Federation (QMSF), made a special presentation to the Qatar Team's 2012 UIM F1H20 World Champion Alex Carella, chief mechanic and engine builder Brendan Power and the team's talented second driver Shaun Torrente at a gala dinner this weekend at the Doha Sheraton.

Khalid bin Arhama Al-Kuwari, head of formula racing at the QMSF, also took the opportunity to confirm his team line-up for the 2013 UIM F1H20 World Championship, which is provisionally set to begin in April.

"We will keep to the same successful team in 2013," enthused Al-Kuwari. "Alex and Shaun will be our drivers in Formula One, Brendan Power will be working in his usual meticulous way with the boats and the engines and Khalid Abdullah Al-Kuwari will represent the team in Formula 4 (F-4S)."

Al-Kuwari also confirmed that he is looking to add a second driver to the Qatar Team line-up for the 2013 UIM F-4S Championship for the Eurofin Trophy and that he has received several enquiries from drivers wanting to join the Qatar Team to potentially run a third boat in F1 during the course of the season.
