PROFILE

MARIT STRØMØY has made history twice. In 2011, in Portimão, Portugal, she became the first woman in F1H2O to earn a pole position and, in Sharjah in 2015, the Norwegian joined the elite Grand Prix Winners Club with a sensational and historic maiden victory.

She made her F1H2O World Championship debut in 2007 and has competed in 100 Grand Prix enjoying her best season in 2019, finishing in third overall. Her last podium finish came in Xiamen in 2019.

She made her racing debut in 1989 at the age of 12. In 1993, she started racing in S-550, winning the European Championship three times (1996, 1998 and 1999) and the Nordic Championship twice (1996 and 1999). In 2000, she moved up to race in F-2000, finishing second in the UAE President’s Cup in 2002, second in the Nordic Championship in 2005 and third in the European Championship in 2007.

Away from racing, Marit is also a talented singer.
