F1H2O

ABU DHABI - Tuesday, September 17, 2013 - Seven-time North American Champion Terry Rinker is returning to the UIM F1 H2O World Championship tour and will be joining driver Jonas Andersson's Team Azerbaijan as the series heads to Liuzhou, China for the 19th Grand Prix of China.

The third round of the championship will take place on the first and second of October on the Liu River with the Florida driver becoming the third teammate this season for Andersson as he readies himself to drive with the Swedish driver in a Danish Molgaard racing hull for the first time in his career.

"I'm truly excited about getting this opportunity to come back to the UIM F1 championship after my two races last year with the Qatar Team," said Terry. "I spent all summer reaching another championship at home and now I'll focus on finding more success on the world tour. I look forward to this challenge and working with such a professional veteran as Jonas."

Terry is still relishing his winning of the USF1 title by finishing second at the final round of tour in Seattle, Washington in early August. His championship marks his seventh title in the past 11 years of the series while he and F1 H2O point's leader Shaun Torrente of the Qatar Team captured all but one championship in the past 10 titles in the series since 2004.

Meanwhile, his new teammate Jonas Andersson, who sits currently eighth in the championship with five points, welcomes the veteran driver to the team for the first time:

"It's great to have such an experienced driver who knows how to win joining our group," said Jonas. "I'm looking forward to working with him. Believe me, I know what he can do after chasing him last year in Sharjah for a podium position though out the Grand Prix. I think he will make a big difference with our team before the season is over."

Joining Terry in China will be Crew Chief Rob Dinicolantonio, Motor Technician Dave McCormick and Start Dock Specialist Joe Wespiser all coming from America to help the Amsoil sponsored boat.

Going into the third round in Liuzhou, Terry's neighbor Shaun Torrente, leads the championship by one point over Finnish driver Sami Selio as the Florida pilot has put himself in the drivers seat with a pair of second place finishes so far this season.

Selio, who has earned two straight pole positions for his Mad Croc Team, has a win at the opening Grand Prix in Brazil followed by disappointing fourth place finish in Kyiv in August. His 29 points are just ahead of Philippe Chiappe's 27 as the French pilot won for the first time in his 11 year career in Kyiv with an inaugural victory for the CTIC China Team heading to home waters for the next round.

Almost forgotten in the mix is the defending two-time World Champion Alex Carella of the Qatar Team as the Italian has quietly earned a pair of third place podium finishes with 24 points gained thus far this season. He is looking for his second consecutive victory in Liuzhou after winning from pole in 2012.

The third race of the 2013 UIM F1 H2O World Championship will take place on the first and second of October on the Liu River in Liuzhou, China for the 19th Grand Prix of China.

Both the official qualifying and the Grand Prix event will be broadcast "live" with the streaming of the world broadcast feed available each day at 15:00 local, 07:00 GMT and 03:00 EDT on the East Coast of North America.
