FORSS UNHURT AFTER SPECTACULAR FLIP
F1H2O

Wednesday, 9 September, ABU DHABI (UAE): Jesper Forss was unhurt after a spectacular flip that cut short his planned time out on the water during this afternoon's free practice session.

The 22-year-old team Sweden driver lost control of his Danish designed Molgaard on the straight before the final left hander on the anticlockwise six-pin circuit, but emerged unscathed. "I was making the most of this time on the water and was out trying a new propeller which I hadn't used before," he said. "I was picking up the pace after the turn and it just went away. There was nothing I could do but hold on.

"I was heading straight into the wind, so maybe not the best to have been pushing but I wanted to get in some good laps. But I learn from that."

Fortunately for Forss the boat landed the right way up and with no apparent engine issues he is confident that any repairs needed, will be carried out in time for him to be back out on the water for tomorrow morning's practice session and official qualifying in the afternoon.
